Statement
My work is rooted in a rural upbringing and in the experience of growing up with the flickering presence of television, both of which have shaped my visual language. Working primarily with oil paint, I explore the tension between movement and stillness, and how images can hover between instability and pause.
Through painting, I reflect on processes of growth and uncertainty, as well as on the shifting dynamics of relationships and emotional states. I am interested in moments where transformation feels imminent, but unresolved, allowing ambiguity to remain present within the image.
At times, I incorporate materials associated with memory and temporality, such as house dust, fireplace ash, or eggshells. These elements introduce traces of lived experience into the work, reinforcing painting as a space where time, material, and emotion intersect.
